The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has raided several places in Jammu and Kashmir. The NIA raided the Lashkar-e-Toba militant group after receiving information that some youths had been recruited. An NIA spokesman said Kashmir had been raided in 11 places. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a police recruiting center at Srinagar, two in Baramulla and one in Avantipura, Budgam and Kulgam.
A similar raid was also carried out at the Basit Ahmed Dar Bash building. Basit Ahmed was quoted as saying by the NIA that he had hired a terrorist and was planning to do something unpleasant. Basit Ahmed has been declared Most Wanted. A police reward of Rs 10 lakh has been announced in his name.
